After Rishabh Pant was Appointed the Captain of the Delhi Capitals for IPL 2021, Should have seen the “Reaction on Shreyas Iyer and Suresh Raina’s Face"

Shreyas said that in his absence he had no doubt that Pant who is a wicketkeeper and batsman, is the right person to look after the team as his replacement being captain.

Rishabh Pant was on Top of Twitter, all over India last evening after his name as the Captain of Delhi Capital for IPL 2021 was announced. Pant got this post as Iyer is out due to a very critical shoulder injury. His fans as well as Iyer and Raina both congratulated him on his new achievement.

For the last 3 season’s of the IPL, Iyer replaced Gautam Gambhir in the middle of IPL season 2018 as a captain, but as of now, he will be out of the IPL 2021 due to a shoulder injury, where he will have to undergo surgery and thereafter needs 6-month rest.

It was a very hard decision and had an impact on the rest of the senior players like Steve Smith, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane as DC went ahead by taking Pant as their new captain in place of them, as all of these three players even after having such good records of being either the captain of their countries, IPL Franchises in the past.

The Delhi Capital needed a Leader in the absence of their captain Shreyas Iyer, so he thought Pant would be a good fit for his absence, although the right-handed batsman will be missing this year's IPL, he surely did not forget to convey his message to the new lad who will be taking over the DC team this year.

Iyer said that Pant has all his good wishes to do miracles for the Delhi team, he also twitted saying that he will miss the team, but he is not going to stop cheering them up from the house as well, Suresh Raina also said that with Pant as the captain of DC he would be a Talismanic leader.

When Pant was appointed as the DC captain and was asked about his opinion he said it was his dream as he grew up in Delhi and started his journey six years back, "My dream was to lead this great team one day and, that’s what happened yesterday when my name was announced as the skipper of the side."

Although, he feels humbled and grateful for the owners of the team to trust him in leading the team which has a great staff to work with and accomplish his job as a captain for the Delhi Capitals.
