INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM FOR MEN ENDS THE TOUR ON AN UNBEATEN COUNT

 

 

Mandeep Singh’s last goal of the match against Great Britain sealed the tournament with a 3-2 win.

 

Mandeep Singh and Harmanpreet Singh gave India the advantages of winning the four-match tour beating Germany, Great Britain. As a result, India ended their tour on an unbeaten spree.

 

As a result, India attacked very early in the half to received a penalty corner in which Harmanpreet scored a brilliant goal for India to lead. Then our goalie Krishan made a great save to help India in winning the game. In the 20th min of the game, Great Britain equalized with a spontaneous goal by James Gall to equalize makes it 1-1.

 

Then in the 28th min’s, Mandeep again scored to put India in the lead once again, which carried the game to halftime. The match remained goalless in the third quarter but during the end of the fourth quarter, Great Britain’s main striker Alan Forsyth equalized through a brilliant counter-attack which ends in a nervy finish.

 

In the fourth quarter, our striker ( Mandeep Singh ) did his job in the 59th min of the game by scoring another great goal to make India proud of him. 

 

It shows that our defense needs to be stronger to help us win more tournaments and tour more countries as our team needs more international trophies than having only national trophy’s which is also good. 

 

It shows that the Indian team ended this first tour on a high and should remain like that for more tours to come in the future. We need to recruit new young and skillful players for our squad as we have plenty of young talented players.
