WEST BENGAL: COVID 19 UPDATE

Bengal has 8,419 new cases of the COVID-19 on Sunday while taking the total tally of the COVID-19 cases to 6,59,927.

On Sunday, The State Health Department issued a fresh COVID-19 protocol, giving the outline to the hospitals that patients will be admitted in after they come positive for COVID-19.

The protocols state that the patients who are facing a light fever and light symptoms of the COVID 19 and don’t have any serious respiratory issues can be treated at their home. 

For those patients who are at-home isolation, sanitizers, masks are important and physical distance must be also maintained by them. The various tests like CBG, Pulse, Oxygen, Serum Creatinine, Blood Pressure, and ECG would be provided to them.

Patients with high fever, cough, chest pain, and low oxygen level that is below 95%, must be admitted to the hospital in a COVID ward after consulting with the doctor.

On Sunday, the number of people who are infected has reached up to 6,59,927 in a single day.

Almost 5,99,721 COVID patients are already discharged from the hospital, and 4,053 people were released in the last 24 hr from the hospital.

On Sunday, the recovery rate has gone up to 90.88 %. From the samples, 6.73 % came out as positive and the number of fresh cases till Saturday was 7,713.

The new COVID 19 cases in the state have gone up to 49,638 till Sunday.

In the state, the percentage of the engaged beds has gone up to 42.57 %. 

In the past 24 hr, 9808,160 samples have been collected and 46,074 tests have been performed.

In the last 24hr around 28 people died from the COVID-19, taking the total death toll to 10,568 in the state.

In the past 24 hr, Kolkata registered 5 deaths, and 6 deaths in North 24-Parganas, in Birbhum 2 deaths, in Hooghly 2 deaths, in Purulia 2 deaths, in East Burdwan 1 death, Murshidabad 4 deaths, Howrah 2 deaths, South 24-Parganas 2 deaths, Jalpaiguri 1 death. West Burdwan, Darjeeling, Nadia, Jalpaiguri, and Malda each place have 1 death in the past 24hr.

North 24-Parganas registered 2,197 new cases in the last 24 hours. In Kolkata, the total number of deaths is 3,206. In the North 24-Parganas, the number of dead people is 2,594.

In Kolkata total tally of the infected people is 1,52,997, North 24-Parganas has 1,42,432, fresh cases in the South 24-Parganas is 501 in the past 24hr. In the South 24-Parganas, the total cases of COVID infected patients are 42,391.
