Adding Power To Shubman Gill’s Gameplan In Powerplays In The IPL 2021

Adding Power To Shubman Gill’s Gameplan In Powerplays In The IPL 2021

The first thing that comes to your mind, when speaking about Gill is that his batting is very elegant. The talented Indian Player has already established himself as an opener batsman for the 50 overs game. But still, he is waiting to live up to his name in the shortest version of the game.

Shubman Gill has been the most consistent guy for the Kolkata Knight Riders with the bat, but as an opener, cum right-handed stylish lad, who has failed to fire his power in the powerplay, it became a big concern for the Knight Riders as he failed to perform his duties in the last season of the IPL 2021.

As the IPL 2021 is starting from this Friday. So, Gill is hoping to find his form by getting his act together to get KKR on a flying start for the tournament. Last year they did not play too many Power Play Overs as they did not get those opportunities.

Shubman Gill has always been the opening batsman for the KKR side but has not found a suitable opening partner to go along his journey. Gill has revealed that having too many opening partnerships, will not affect his games, he said that he has and will be comfortable batting with anybody if they have a good start in the beginning, then they can very much capitalize on it to get back to the game, Said Gill.

After Dinesh Karthik in the mid-way of the tournament gave up his captaincy due to focusing more on his batting ability, Eoin Morgan took over the captaincy from him to support the team well as he has more experience. Gill said that he is happy to play under him as he is a very calm captain and will be seeing to the needs of his players.

Another great bowler like Harbhajan Singh joining the KKR squad has made the team a deadly spin trio, alongside Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav.

Reflecting on KKR’s latest pick Harbhajan, Gill announced that he is very experienced and has played a lot of tough cricket and played tough matches in Mumbai that is not good for spinners.

Life in a bio bubble has become harsh and boring because of the second wave of the Coronavirus Pandemic hitting the nation. It is very difficult and hard on players, especially because the players are not able to go out on the field mentally refreshed for the next game. But now they need to get used to it as this is the new normal.
