AB De Villiers On International Return, Reveals Chat With Mark Boucher

According to his coach Mark Boucher, the talks are still on the table and he will give a chance to AB de Villiers after IPL 2021.

It has almost been three years that AB de Villiers started his International retirement. Although the former South African Skipper has continued to play in T20 league matches across the world over the past few years and has shown his supreme form in the shortest format.

De Villiers heroics in the Indian Premier League over the past years for Royal Challengers Bangalore almost gave rise to a discussion about his International return for South Africa in the T20 World Cup squad last year.

But with this dangerous Covid-19 putting an end to the sporting World for that year, had to see the T20 World Cup 2020 postponed and poor De Villiers’ possible return was stopped for the time being.

So, there are still plans to think over ABD’s return to the South African squad, according to coach Mark Boucher, as discussions are still on the table about his comeback.

“AB, being the person he is, where he wants to perform very well at the IPL games to prove to himself and everyone else that he is still a key figure in the world of cricket and could really dominate at that level as well.”

“I did chat with him (AB de Villiers) before even he could leave for the IPL games, where the conversation is still open,” I literally told him ‘ Go do your thing, and I’ll give you a call towards the end of the IPL.” so that is where we are with talks with him,” Boucher further said.

In Royal Challengers Bangalore’s first game of the IPL 2021 against Mumbai Indians, De Villiers played a great knock of 48 runs in 27 balls. In which his performance helped Virat Kohli’s side in winning the last year's champions by two wickets.
