We’ll ensure you will reach home seamlessly: BCCI assuring foreign players playing in IPL
On Tuesday, BCCI told that it will do everything to ensure that foreign players who are playing in the IPL will reach their respective countries seamlessly once the tournament will end, a day after 3 Australian players have quit the event because of an increasing number of Covid-19 cases in India. Rajasthan Royal Andrew Tye and the duo of Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson from Royal Challengers Bangalore made a withdraw as apprehension set in just after a couple of weeks went back smoothly for the league match held in front of an empty stand across six venues.

“We understand that most of you are tensed about how you will be going back to your homes once the tournament ends. We want to ensure you that you don’t anything to worry about,” BCCI COO Hemang Amin mentioned in a letter addressed to all the players.
“The BCCI will be doing everything to make you sure that you will reach your respective countries seamlessly. The BCCI is looking into the situation very closely and is also working with government authorities to make all the arrangements to let you go home as soon as the tournament ends."
“Be rest assured that the tournament is not over yet for BCCI till the time each one of you reaches home safely,” he added.
On Tuesday, Australia has suspended all direct passenger flights immediately, effective till the 15th of May due to the “very significant” spike in Covid-19 cases.
Kolkata Knight Riders mentor David Hussey got to know that all the Australian players in the IPL tournament are feeling a bit nervous about going back home in the wake of the situation here in India.
Amin asked the players to carry on-
"As some of you have said, 'if we can help distract people from all the troubles of recent times, even if it is for a short while, we have done a great job'. When you all walk out onto the field, you are bringing hope to millions of people who have tuned in."
"If even for a minute, you can bring a smile on someone's face, then you have done well. While you are professionals and will play to win, this time you are also playing for something much more important," he concluded.
Many England and New Zealand players are also competing in the tournament but haven’t yet said about their concerns. The IPL final match has been scheduled for 30th May in Ahmedabad.
As many as 14 Australian players are still remaining in the tournament, including the stars which are Steve Smith (DC), David Warner (SunRisers Hyderabad), and Pat Cummins (Kolkata Knight Riders), also the coaches Ricky Ponting (DC) and Simon Katich (RCB).
Commentators are as Matthew Hayden, Brett Lee, Micheal Slater, and Lisa Sthalekar are also on the list of Australians entangled in the league right now.
