2021 CBSE BOARD EXAMS WON'T BE CANCELLED
Students across the country have been requesting the government to cancel the 2021 Board exams after the Covid-19 cases are increasing rapidly.
CBSE (Central Board Of Secondary Education) responded to the growing request. CBSE has confirmed that the board exams of class 10th and 12th will take place as per the schedule (i.e, from 4th May).
The Online request demanding the cancellation of the 2021 CBSE Board Exam has crossed 1,00,000 signatures, earlier on Friday.
“I urge the education ministry to look into this matter and cancel all examinations to be held this year. Above that, they’ll have to take the pressure of examinations which could lead them into taking bad decisions if they don’t perform well. Some serious action needs to be taken”, the requestors said.
CBSE and the CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) reacted to the request, they issued a joint statement and guaranteed that during the exams all the necessary precautions will be taken for students' safety.
Speaking to PTI, a CBSE official said, “With Covid guidelines in place, the exam centers across the country have been increased by 40-50 percent to ensure social distancing among students during the exam. The board is taking ample measures to conduct board exams 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic.”
On Friday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Congress general secretary) backed student's requests and said to CBSE that it is irresponsible to force students to appear for the Board exams. She also demanded that the exams be either canceled or rescheduled in the view of Covid-19 situation across the country.
“It is downright irresponsible of boards like the CBSE to force students to sit for exams under the prevailing circumstances. Board exams should either be canceled, rescheduled, or arranged in a manner that does not require the physical presence of children at crowded exam centers,” she tweeted.
