Manchester United’s Manager defends the decision to rest Bruno Fernandes in the FA Cup Quarter Finals Loss

Manchester United’s Manager defends the decision to rest Bruno Fernandes in the FA Cup Quarter Finals Loss.

Ole said that mid-fielder Bruno Fernandes needed to rest after Portugal International left out of the starting lineup for the Sunday game against Leicester City, where they lost 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

Brendan Rodgers’ boys Kelechi Iheanacho who scored twice and Youri Tielemans added one more goal to make the total 3-1 to beat the Red Devils in the FA Cup Quarter Finals and will face Southampton in the semi-finals.

Fernandes has been the pillar of the United squad. He has a stand-out performance where he scored 23 goals and 13 assists in just 45 games in all competitions, as for Ole to take such a decision was because he had played a lot of football games this season and was fatigue to play a full game.

I know Bruno wanted to play but it was my decision for the benefit of the team and him as well, we were disappointed to lose the FA Cup quarter-finals and was out so soon cause of all the matches we played and all the injuries we were facing with all the good players.

Ole said that he doesn’t want to make any excuses but he will try to find an explanation and we had a lot of players coming back in the squad where they did not practice much to be completely poised and others that played was playing without any sparks, zip, and energy that we normally see in them.

Later Leichester Manager said that it would be a tough game for him in the semifinals, as his team never played a FA Cup Semifinals since 1968-1969. He was very happy for his team to perform like that this season.
