IPL 2021: ANDRE RUSSELL AND SUNIL NARINE DEPART FOR THEIR HOME INDIA

Kolkata Knight Riders Star players Andre Russell and Sunil Narine were both seen leaving for India for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 posted by KKR on social media.

The Caribbean knights are only a few hours away from their second home #India” which was written by KKR and posted on Twitter. KKR also posted a video of the Caribbean duo at the airport.

IPL 2021 will start on the 9th of April, where the champions of last year Mumbai Indians will be facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.

Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their campaign in Chennai by playing their first game with SunRisers Hyderabad, two days after the start of the tournament, which is on the 11th of April.

Both the Caribbean players have played for KKR over several years and have won the IPL in the year 2014, while Narine also won the league for the KKR side in 2012, as both the players have been very crucial for KKR.

However, in the last IPL Russell and Narine’s form tapered as Russell only scored 117 Runs without a half centuries and took only six wickets in ten matches, while Sunil, who was a left-handed batsman scored 121 Runs with one-half centuries and took only five wickets in ten matches.

Notwithstanding their performance, last season in the UAE due to the Coronavirus pandemic throughout the world, now Russell and Narine will play in a familiar environment this season and wouldn’t be playing at home.

Russell and Narine seem to be in very good form this season and are looking to play what they are worth and to win the tournament this year for the Kolkata Knight Riders once again.

This year, none of the IPL teams will be playing at home ground this season and will be playing at only six designated venues such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata.

All the playoff matches will be played at the Ahmedabad venue. And this year's Finals is scheduled for the 30th of May.
