HOLI CELEBRATIONS HAS BANNED IN SOME CITIES DUE TO THE RISE IN COVID-19 CASES


 

On (March 23rd, 2021) the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) announced that the celebrations of Holi (Holika Dahan or Rang Panchami) in private and public places (inside the housing or societies) has banned in Mumbai for a raise amount of COVID-19 daily cases.

 

The government of the “Palghar” district has also banned the Holi celebrations in private and public places.

Iqbal Singh Chahal, commissioner of (BMC) said that with the rise of COVID-19 cases, we have to ignore the crowd in the city. On March 28 (The burning of Holi fire/ Holi Dahan) and on March 29 (Rangpanchmi) celebration has banned in Mumbai. 

For only private parties, you can book resorts and hotels. 

 

On March 23 Mumbai city reported new cases for COVID-19 is 3,514 and 8 deaths. Taking its increasing cases to 3,69,451 and death toll to 11,604.

 

Violators will face strict action for the issued by the civic body stated or will be booked under Maharashtra COVID-19 Regulations and Disaster Management Act. 

 

The Holi celebrations are also banned in Delhi and Gujarat to avoid crowds or any gathering. Because of the rising numbers of corona-virus. 

 

 It said that "It is anticipated that gathering, congregations and public celebrations during upcoming festivals like Holi, Shab-e-Barat, Navratri, etc., may pose a considerable threat of the spread of the virus and may cause a setback to the appreciable gains made in the suppression of chain of transmission of COVID-19 cases in Delhi".

 

The order stated, "Considering this, it has been decided that public celebrations and all gatherings/congregations during upcoming festivities should not be allowed in public places".
