THE BOARD EXAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED IN MAHARASHTRA FOR CLASS 10 AND 12
For the rise cases of COVID-19 Maharashtra postponed the state board exam for classes 10 and 12. The class 10 exam will now be held in June and the class 12 exam is at the end of May, said Varsha Gaikwad (School Education Minister). The fix dates will be disclosed by the increasing situation, which is seen by the control, she said.
Ms. Gaikwad said in a video message, which was posted today on Twitter: "The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority."
The exam got postponed after the discussion with several stakeholders with the teachers, students, elected representatives from across parties, parents, tech giants, and academicians. She said.
Uddhav Thackeray (Chief Minister) Ms. Gaikwad thanking him for his guidance she said: "During the consultations, various alternative assessment options were evaluated keeping the health, well-being, and future of our students in mind. Postponing exams seemed to be the most pragmatic solution."
Ms. Gaikwad said: "We'll also be writing to the CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge boards, requesting them to reconsider their exam dates."
The worst-hit of the pandemic in Maharashtra was already affected from January 2020, is in the control of torrid recovery of infections and it also hit the entire country. The only state which recorded yesterday 63294 new cases and deaths is 349. The total cases are 34,07,245 and the total deaths are 57,987.
The increasing cases are the only reason that the state is back to the part of night-curfews and lockdowns. The state may consider complete lockdown if the situation does not get any improvement fixed by the officials, and they also trying to avoid all this.
Earlier this month many students were demanded from the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) that they have to cancel the board exam for the rise numbers of the COVID-19 cases or they have to take an online exam. The board arrangements all the safety were made for all students who will set in the exam.
