IPL 2021, KKR VS MI: Mumbai Indian Who Scripted An Epic Come Back To Win Against KKR By 10 Runs, Star For MI Was Rahul Chahar

At The MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday night we all saw KKR committing suicide, by throwing away their wickets so easily and unnecessarily to hand over the game to Mumbai Indians on a silver platter.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost by only 10 runs as they chased a small score of 153 runs. KKR ended at 142 runs for 7 wickets, it was not the match for the KKR lads to lose, after bowling out Mumbai Indians for only 152 runs.

To defend a small score of only 152, you need to take wickets at the earliest part of the game, but it was MI’s fantastic bowling, in a period of magic where they picked up 3 wickets for 20 runs, that closed the deal in their favor, the biggest destruction came from Rahul Chahar’s 4 wickets and only giving 27 runs.

Once again the KKR’s Openers gave the team an excellent start, but the middle order did not take advantage, getting out in a quick session by searching to hit bad shots and getting caught out, when a more calculated approach would have been enough for them to win.

4/27 was the best that Rahul Chahar produced in his bowling performance in the IPL yet- it was his first four-wicket haul, 3 for 15 for Chennai vs SunRisers in Hyderabad on April 22, 2018, was his previous best.

Earlier in the game, Andre Russell gave Kolkata Knight Riders the margin by picking up 5 wickets for 15 runs in just 2 overs, in their last match against RCB, MI lost six wickets in the last five overs, they lost seven wickets for 38 runs, which was the end of the game.

KKR came out to the field with a positive plan and they stuck to that well. Captain Eoin Morgan began with his spinners, knowing well that the MI power hitters wanted the ball to come on to the bat. After winning the toss, he used Harbhajan Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, and Shakib Al Hasan in the first five overs.

Except for Suryakumar Yadav, none of the MI batsmen could get over the KKR attack, after leaving the pitch by Quinton de Kock, Surya got into action, he hit three fours from Harbhajan over as MI collected 42 runs, losing one wicket in the Powerplay.

Former vice-captain of KKR Surya reached his 50 runs off 33 balls after flicking it to the deep square leg for a six of Pat Cummins over.
