Will IPL Season 14 (2021) Be Hosted In Mumbai??
Cricbuzz suggests in the report that On 3rd March Wednesday (2021) Brijesh Patel the chairman of Indian Premier League (IPL), Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Hemang Amin, and a team of (MCA) Mumbai Cricket Association appointee met former in Mumbai With (BCCI) president Sarad Pawar for the upcoming edition of the IPL 14 to host the matches in Mumbai because Mumbai was not mentioned on the list. Sarad Pawar told at the meeting that the state government of Maharashtra would take all possible support for them.
The cities that were shortlisted to host the(IPL) due to the number of COVID-19 cases were the five states-Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore. But now we think that Mumbai will also join the list.
In the upcoming season of the (IPL) if Mumbai gets the chance to host the match then the fans will be surely excited.
The franchise from the city - (Mumbai Indians) - is the defending champions.
"The general impression at the meeting was that it should be just like in Ahmedabad or Chennai, where the 50 percent crowds are/were allowed," said the member of Cricbuzz who was involved in the meeting.
Once the Governing Council confirms the list then BCCI will also announce the dates of the matches but it will be decided at the next meeting. GC's meeting will take place in the next few coming days.
Meanwhile, the (BCCI) is facing pressure from the franchises (Jaipur, Mohali, and Hyderabad) to allow the matches over there. They want the matches to be held in their cities.
The co-owner of Kings XI Punjab (Ness Wadia) commented on Cricbuzz "I have already spoken to some BCCI officials and will request the higher authorities too to hold matches in Chandigarh. Fans in Punjab are passionate and, they should not be deprived of IPL action".
T20 IPL tournament would start on April 9, as suggested by the reports.
