FARMERS CALLED FOR BHARAT BAND FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM

 

On 26th March 2021, the coalition of farmer’s unions (Samyukta Kisan Morcha) SKM has given a call for a countrywide strike or a Bharat Bandh, to mark the four months of their agitation at Delhi’s borders. Recently enacted protest against three farm laws, there is a Bharat Bandh or nationwide shutdown for 12hr from 6 am to 6 pm on 26th March.

 Some trains got postponed because of the strike. Trains like Delhi to Amritsar, Chandigarh, Kalka, and some other trains. 

  

The protesting farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, or other several states have been performing sit-in along Delhi borders- Tikri, Singh, and Ghazipur, for a legal guarantee, that the (Minimum Support Price) MSP and demanding repeal of the farm laws will continue. The farmers are fear for the new law will break the Minimum Support Price and group farming. To block the movement of protesters the policemen will set up barricades.

 

Previously, SKM has said that: "all minor and big roads and trains will be blocked" and "all services will remain suspended except for ambulance and other essential services”. 

 

To resolve the stalemate, the unions of farmers have 10 rounds to talk with the Centre but to no avail.

 

From the farmer's side, this nationwide strike is the second strike, the 1st strike is on (8th December) which is in a place like Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. It takes support from several trade unions. Assorted other organizations as well as twenty-four opposition parties, including the Congress and the NCP.

 

Previously, it was said by the leader of Samkyukta Kisan Morcha (Darshan Pal) to stop all supplies of milk and vegetables from protesting farmers. The Samkyukta Kisan Morcha is the lead agency for protesting unions and appealed to the protesting farmers to be calm and not get mixed up in any illegitimate debate or conflict on the Bharat Bandh. 

 

‘Have To Make Bharat Bandh Success’ 

 

Buta Singh Burjgill (the leader of a farmer) said that they notice the bandh for a day when farmer protest will reach the 4th month, the Burjgill said: “The peaceful bandh will remain effective from morning till evening”.

 

Bhartiya Kisan Morcha tweeted: “In order to make Bharat Bandh successful, all District President, the Block President / Tehsil President, and top officials should coordinate to ensure that the bandh is made successful”.

 

‘No Movements On-Road Or Rail Traffic’

 

No rail or road traffic will be allowed to ply, and all business formation will also be closed (from 6 AM to 6 PM), announced by the farmer’s unions during the strike 

 

The leader of the union said that the ‘Holika Dahan’ on (March 28) copies of the farm laws will be burnt by the farmers. 

 

Congress in support of the protesting farmer, MP Digvijaya Singh tweeted: “We support the call for Bharat Bandh on 26th March against the three Anti-Farmers Bill”.
