GUJARAT IMPOSES 3-4 DAYS CURFEW TO CONTROL THE SPIKE IN COVID-19 CASES


On April 6, Gujarat High Court talked to the state government to apply the curfew for 3 To 4 days due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, suggested by the news reports. 





Gujarat has inflicted night curfew on twenty cities in the whole month of April as the state is seeing a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.

Vijay Rupani (the chief minister of Gujarat) had announced that: "Night curfew to be imposed in 20 cities of the state between 8 pm to 6 am from 8th April."


Further added by CM Vijay Rupani: "100 people to be allowed at weddings. Grand events to be postponed until April 30. Govt offices to remain closed on Saturday till April 30."


Amreli, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Surat, Bharuch, Rajkot, Gandhidham, Vadodara, Bhuj, Junagadh, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Godhra, Jamnagar, Patan, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Anand, Mehsana, and Nadiad are the cities where the night curfew has been inflicted.


Court has advised stopping large gatherings and political meetings as it is only adding fuel to the rising cases. Gujarat's recovery rate has dropped down as well.


The second wave of COVID-19 has begun in India. The cases of COVID-19 have crossed the total tally of 1.26 crore, by 6th April. The infections being reported with the new cases nearly 97,000. In the last 24 hr, India has reported over 1 lakh new cases.

Most of the states have issued new guidelines to fight against the second wave of the covid-19.
