AKSHAY KUMAR WILL PLAY THE ROLE OF AN ARCHAEOLOGIST FOR HIS UPCOMING PROJECT RAM SETU
The upcoming venture RAM SETU by Akshay Kumar will begin the shooting on March 18th (2021). Akshay Kumar will soon start the shooting of the movie Ram Setu, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez. It will be directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
Bharucha and Fernandez meanwhile will play the characters of strong and independent women.
Right now, Akshay is spending some quality time with his family on a vacation in the Maldives and will dive back to work as soon, Abhishek says that the schedules for the next few months and movie's 80% will be shot in Mumbai.
When Dwivedi explained the thought for picking the location then he said: “Having visited Ayodhya several times myself, I suggested to Akshay and the team that we should launch the production schedule with blessings from the holy temple of Lord Ram. We are scheduled to hold our mahurat shot in Ayodhya and commence our filming on an auspicious note.”
In 2007 the journey of Ram Setu of Abhishek was started when he “first read newspaper coverage about a court case related to a project to build a shipping canal in the shallow straits between India and Sri Lanka and the issues that the project was facing”.
“I found this to be an opportunity to explore the truth behind an Indian legend and was amazed at the magnitude of the subject. It’s like I was being presented with the possibility to bring forward a true story that would connect generations of Indians to a part of our heritage that was not getting the attention it deserved.” Abhishek clarified.
During the lockdown last year Abhishek shares that he locked the screenplay, he said: “To Akshay sir, I pitched the first draft of the screenplay and, he immediately came on-board,”
“He has helped us immensely by providing access and perspective to history and religion as well as building a team of researchers with backgrounds in archaeology, history, religion, and science, in equal measure,” Sharma says, noting that the idea behind “the research process was to gain a comprehensive understanding on the subject and to create a film on this true story that is based on and supported by facts”.
On social media, Akshay announced the movie last year (DIWALI) by releasing his upcoming movie poster. Everything is now planned, for safety protocols in the place the makers are busy preparing everything for a smooth experience.
“For Ram Setu, there will be strict protocols in place, including travel and stay bio-bubbles, frequent health checks, and a professional agency on-board to manage these protocols all through. Given the complexity of the story and ensuing locations, VFX, etc, the production will be spread across multiple schedules over the next few months.” said the producer (Vikram Malhotra).
