NIGHT CURFEW IN PUNJAB'S NINE DISTRICTS FOR THE HIKE IN COVID-19 CASES



In Punjab, over nine-districts, more than 100 positive cases of COVID-19 have been seen. From 9 PM till 5 AM the night curfew will get started, instead of 11 PM till 5 AM in Ropar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Gurdaspur, Mohali, and Amritsar. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced that from Thursday the night curfew would be started to stop the further spread of coronavirus.

 

For the past few days in Punjab the cases of COVID-19 have shot up to (2039) and on Wednesday 35 people were reported dead. The Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh during talking in the conference on his completion of four years on the post of CM stated that due to the critical situation in the state he needs to be strict.

 

He said, “I won’t be easy on the people. People may not like it, but it’s my duty,” he said, with the hope that the caseload will not cross the (3000). By applying the restrictions, he hopes that all residents will support and follow him. He urged citizens to save the lives of Punjabis.

 

After the discussions with the state government, he stated several measures, along with restrictions. He also noted that an expert team for Covid-19 will be present. There will also be restrictions on political groups.

 

Chief Minister further requested to the people that if they feel unwell then they should check-up with the doctor and get tested. The citizens are also going too late to the hospital. For all citizens, he said to maintain social distancing and wear masks, if needed there will be warning and penalties may be added also. 

 

 



The cases of COVID-19 is 35,871 and, the related cases of it are 172, 100 cases are coming up in a single day, the tally of Indian’s infection is to over (11.47) million and the tally for death mounted up to (159,216), according to the (Union Ministry of Health) on Thursday morning. On 6th December last year, the record of infections was (36,011). 

 

After Brazil and United States, India ranks 3rd in the number of cases. India has an active caseload of (252,364).
